Rupert Allison

Associate Director

Rupert joined Weatherbys Private Bank as a Associate Director in May 2020, having experienced over 30 years in the Private Wealth Management industry spanning the specialist discipline of Investment management to a more generalist role of Private Banker. Prior to Weatherbys, Rupert worked at Barclays Private Bank as well as HSBC and Coutts where he provided banking and wealth management solutions to a variety of clients. Rupert leads a team responsible for managing a group of clients focused on banking, credit and investing, as well a bringing his wider experience to help evolve the overall Private Banking offering. Rupert is a Chartered Wealth Manager of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment

Katherine Andrews

Senior Private Banking Executive

Katherine joined Weatherbys Private Bank in April 2016 having started her career in Corporate Finance at Deutsche Bank working as an Associate in the Conflict Clearing team for Mergers & Acquisitions. Prior to joining Weatherbys Katherine spent two years in New Zealand working with horses and reporting for the Polo Times magazine. Katherine works alongside Aidan Faik.

Barry Arbon

Senior Private Banker

Barry joined Weatherbys Private Bank as a Senior Private Banker in 2019. He has extensive banking experience with a particular focus on lending and wealth advice. After five years at Barclays, he spent over twelve years with Coutts & Co managing a portfolio of High Net Worth Individuals.

Robert Ball

Senior Private Banker

Rob is a Senior Private Banker and joined Weatherbys Private Bank in 2012. Previously Robert gained extensive banking experience from his career of over twenty-five years with HSBC Group, including over fifteen years in their Private Banking Division, managing a portfolio of High Net Worth Individuals in both lending and wealth advisory roles.

Suzanne Barnes

Principal Private Banking Executive

Suzanne joined Weatherbys in 2007 having worked for HSBC and Santander in a variety of branch and Head Office roles. Suzanne has previously spent some time working in the Asset Finance sector dealing predominantly with Small Ticket Leasing and Agricultural Finance. As well as thirty years of banking experience, Suzanne is also a CeMAP qualified mortgage advisor. Away from banking, Suzanne is a Police Support Volunteer.

Oliver Barnett


Ollie joined Weatherbys Private Bank as Associate Director in July 2017. He was promoted to Director in July 2021. Prior to Weatherbys, Oliver worked for Signia Wealth where he was Head of Lending. He spent more than seven years at C Hoare & Co Private Bank where his team compiled and managed complex lending propositions, as well as adding significantly to the growth of the wealth management business. He also helped launch and develop the dedicated Entrepreneurs’ Team. Oliver leads a team responsible for building a book of clients focused on banking, credit and investing, as well as bringing his wider experience to help run and grow the overall Private Banking offering.

James Brooks

Senior Private Banker

James is a Senior Private Banker at Weatherbys with over 20 years of experience in banking, the last 15 of which have been within private banking. James joined Weatherbys in December 2019 from Arbuthnot Latham. Prior to that he worked at Duncan Lawrie, Adam & Company and OCBC advising private and commercial clients across a variety of sectors. James is a keen motorsport and classic car enthusiast.

Graeme Buchanan

Private Banker

Graeme is a Private Banker at Weatherbys. He joined in October 2014 from Bank of Scotland where he was a Private Banking Manager looking after the banking requirements of a portfolio of high net worth clients. This was a role he held for thirteen years. Prior to this, he worked in the Branch network of Bank of Scotland where he was the manager of a number of Branches across the Central Region of Scotland. Graeme is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers in Scotland and a Member of the Personal Finance Society and the Chartered Insurance Institute.

John Butters

Chief Investment Officer

John Butters joined Weatherbys Private Bank in 2016 and leads the investment and financial planning team. Prior to joining Weatherbys he developed an investment service for Aspinalls Family Office. He has also worked as a portfolio manager at the multi-family office Sand Aire, where he managed several investment funds, and at a London hedge fund which inspired his book on macroeconomic analysis, Rational Macro. John holds the Chartered Financial Analyst, Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst and Certified Financial Risk Manager qualifications and is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.

Stephen Cannons

Associate Director

Stephen joined Weatherbys Private Bank in January 2010, having spent most of his professional life at Coutts & Co where he provided banking and wealth management to UK and international personal and corporate clients. Immediately prior to joining Weatherbys he was the investment advisor to a US based family and their charitable foundation. Stephen is a qualified financial planner, and a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment. He sits as a Member Nominated Trustee on the Board of the Weatherbys Pension and Assurance Scheme.

Penny Chamberlain

Associate Director

Penny joined Weatherbys in 2009 having previously spent over ten years at Investec Private Bank in South Africa where she was an integral member of the International Division and Head of the Administration Team. Penny now heads up the Private Banking Support Team at Weatherbys and works closely with the Head of the Private Bank and the Associate Directors to ensure that the team delivers exemplary customer service. Penny read Economics, Accountancy and Commercial Law at Pietermaritzburg University and the University of South Africa. In addition to her Bachelor of Commerce qualification, Penny is a qualified Company Secretary and member of the Chartered Institute of Business Management.

Bertie de Klee

Private Banker

Bertie joined Weatherbys in 2012 after graduating from the University of Bristol, where he helped establish the Bristol Turf Club (horse racing society). Bertie obtained a 2.1 degree in Geography. He is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments (IAD, Level 4 qualified), the Chartered Banker Institute, and holds a Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice (CeMAP, Level 3 qualified).

Aidan Faik

Senior Private Banker

Aidan is a Senior Private Banker. He joined in 2018 from C Hoare & Co, where he had been responsible for looking after a portfolio of Landed Estates. In addition to this he was also responsible for the bank’s business development strategy. Prior to this Aidan had spent 6 years at Coutts & Co. Away from banking Aidan is a keen fisherman and aviator.

George Furber

Private Banker

George re-joined Weatherbys in 2017, having initially started in 2010 but left for 4 years to HSBC Private Bank in 2013 before returning. He is a qualified mortgage advisor and member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments. Outside of work he spends most of his time playing golf or cricket.

Simon Gardiner

Senior Private Banker

Simon is a Senior Private Banker at Weatherbys Private Bank. He has been part of the London team for ten years and is responsible for managing a portfolio of clients. He is a qualified mortgage advisor and member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments. Simon also heads up the US Citizen Service at Weatherbys.

Andrew Goodwin

Senior Paraplanner

Andrew is a Chartered Financial Planner and Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute. He brings with him 15 years’ industry experience providing holistic financial planning solutions to meet the complex needs of internal and external clients. Andrew also holds qualifications in project management and Lean Six Sigma.

Duncan Gourlay


Duncan is a Director and is responsible for the Weatherbys Private Bank Office in Edinburgh. He joined Weatherbys Private Banking in 2013 from Barclays Wealth, where he was a Private Banker. Prior to Barclays Wealth, Duncan worked for Bank of Scotland for fifteen years and at Adam and Co for five years, where he was a Senior Private Banker, looking after Private Clients and Families. Duncan holds Chartered Banker Status from the Chartered Institute of Bankers in Scotland as well as being a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments.

David Green

Associate Director, Compliance

David joined Weatherby Private Bank in June 2019 from C Hoare & Co where he was a Senior Credit Manager. He worked for C Hoare & Co for 19 years as a Senior Relationship Manager, heading up a Section of Relationship Managers before concentrating solely on credit. Prior to C Hoare & Co, David worked for Coutts for 13 years undertaking a variety of roles.

Rebekah Guntrip

Private Banker

Rebekah heads up the Sports Professionals Service at Weatherbys. She joined Weatherbys Private Bank in July 2014. Prior to joining Weatherbys, she worked at Cerillion Technologies on the business development team. Rebekah graduated from Newcastle University in 2012, with a degree in Marketing and Management. Rebekah is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments (IAD, Level 4 qualified), the Chartered Banker Institute, and holds a Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice (CeMAP, Level 3 qualified).

Dominic Haldane

Head of Treasury

Dominic joined the Bank in May 2012 after a brief hiatus away from the financial markets. Previously, Dominic spent fourteen years working within the Treasury team at Alliance & Leicester Plc prior to their subsequent takeover by Santander and a further seven years within retail banking at Lloyds Bank. During his time with Alliance & Leicester Plc, Dominic occupied a number of roles including management of the foreign exchange and Euro money market books. Dominic also coordinated the introduction of a ‘repurchase program’ (Repo), which swiftly became a major contributor to the short term funding capability of the bank. He subsequently specialised in medium term assets, co-managing an investment book in excess of £10bn. Dominic holds both an ACI Dealing Certificate and ACI Diploma.

Robbie Harley

Private Banking Assistant Manager

Robbie joined Weatherbys Private Bank in 2018 having previously spent 14 years working in various different roles across the Barclays Private Banking platform. Robbie also worked at Arbuthnot Latham Private bank as a Senior Executive before moving to join Weatherbys. Robbie was soon promoted to Private Banking Assistant Manager. Outside of work Robbie is a keen fisherman, musician and enjoys traveling and socialising with friends.

Kitty Harington


Kitty joined Weatherbys in March 2018 as the Wealth Planning Administrator and was promoted to Paraplanner in July 2019. Prior to this she worked in the financial planning department at Brewin Dolphin and undertook a three month internship in New York working as the business development intern at Prime Alpha, an online financial start-up company which connects fund managers and investors. Kitty graduated from Newcastle University with a 2:1 in History and Politics in June 2016 and has her CII Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning.

David Hart

Director, Business Development

David joined Weatherbys in 1999 having previously worked for Britannia Building Society. Initially involved in the management of the operational side of the business, David has for a number of years headed up our Racing Bank division, and more recently has extended this role to manage a portfolio of clients in the Private Bank. His passion is ensuring that our clients are happy with our service, and that their expectations are not only met, but exceeded.

Sarah Hawkes

Head of Customer Service

Sarah started her career in banking with TSB Bank and later with Lloyds TSB plc after their merger took place. She was on the management team of several branches, responsible for customer service delivery, before joining the team at Weatherbys Bank in 1999.

Phil Jackson

Associate Director

Phil is an Associate Director at Weatherbys Private Bank, having joined in 1998. He manages a portfolio of private clients from across the country, operating both within and outside of the racing industry. Prior to joining Weatherbys, Phil worked for Yorkshire Bank, latterly as part of National Australia Banking Group, for thirteen years. During this time he managed his own branch, headed an area credit function and spent two years supporting management of the Bank’s largest UK commercial clients. He is a qualified Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers and is a CeMAP qualified Mortgage Advisor.

Quentin Marshall

Managing Director of Weatherbys Bank

Quentin joined Weatherbys Private Bank as Head of Private Banking in June 2015 from Coutts where he had been Head of Advisory within the investments team and deputy chairman of the Investment Strategy Committee, overseeing c. £30bn of assets. Prior to Coutts, Quentin worked for UBS for sixteen years, joining predecessor firm SG Warburg from university as an Investment Banker. During this time he spent four years advising the Republic of Indonesia during the Asian financial crisis. He also acted for some of the largest FTSE100 companies raising capital and working on mergers and acquisitions. He subsequently specialised in advising family owned companies, moving to UBS Wealth Management to help create the UBS Family Office Group.

Clare Munro

Senior Tax Adviser

Clare is a Chartered Accountant and Trust and Estate Practitioner and has spent a career providing tax advice to a range of clients including High Net Worth Individuals and trusts. Prior to joining Weatherbys in March 2020, Clare was a partner at Lubbock Fine where she looked after the tax affairs of a portfolio of entrepreneurial, HNWI and international clients.

Fiona Noonan

General Counsel

Fiona has over 25 years’ experience as a legal and regulatory counsel working both in private practice and investment banks and brings considerable structuring, transactional and execution experience to the Weatherby’s senior management team. She has held other key roles in wealth management at Morgan Stanley and leveraged finance execution at Goldman Sachs.

Hayley Robinson

Private Banker

Hayley joined Weatherbys Private Bank in 2016 and currently works within our Scotland office, looking after a portfolio of clients. Prior to joining Weatherbys, she worked at Bank of Scotland Private Banking for 9 years and holds experience of assisting Relationship Managers, providing Partnership Loans to UK firms and for a period, as a Financial Crime Officer liaising directly with the National Crime Agency. Hayley is a qualified mortgage advisor and a member of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments.

Steven Robinson

Chief Operating Officer

Steven joined Weatherbys in 2019. He has worked in senior executive roles within financial services for over 20 years, including Barclays and Lloyds Banking Group and, latterly, as a Board Director of Bibby Financial Services Ltd. He has undertaken a wide range of leadership roles in strategy development, enterprise-wide transformation, operations, service and supplier management, outsourcing, risk, marketing and HR.

David Stead

Senior Private Banker

David is a Senior Private Banker joining from Investec Private Bank in 2019. David is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment, Chartered Insurance Institute and Personal Finance Society. He is a qualified Investment adviser, Financial Planner and holder of the Certificate in Advanced Mortgage Advice. He specialises in providing structuring, lending and investment advice to High Net Worth Entrepreneurs.

Nathan Valbonesi

Associate Director, Financial Planning

Nathan Valbonesi joined the Bank in 2018 from Prudential where he was an Advisor. Previously Nathan has gained extensive experience in Financial Advice in both London and Australia. Nathan is a certified European Financial Advisor (EFA).<br> Nathan is a member of Chartered Insurance Institute and the Chartered Institute for Securities & investments. And is currently working towards Chartered status.

Sarah Willcocks

Principal Private Banking Executive

Sarah is a Senior Private Banking Executive at Weatherbys Private Bank and works alongside Phil Jackson. She joined Weatherbys in 2005 initially as a Bloodstock Researcher and transferred to the Bank in 2006. Prior to joining Weatherbys Sarah had five years’ experience working for a subsidiary of Britannia Building Society in Plymouth, working in various departments including Property Insurance, Britannia Flexible Mortgages and latterly Credit Control. Sarah has gained her Professional Banker Diploma and is currently working towards the Associate Chartered Banker Diploma.

Jane Wyles

Senior Private Banking Executive

Jane joined Weatherbys Bank in 2019 having started her career with Standard Chartered Bank, later moving to EFG Private Bank where she worked for 16 years, assisting in the management of a portfolio of High Net Worth clients for their banking, lending and wealth management requirements. She holds a Certificate in Mortgage Advice & Practice (CeMAP) and is investment qualified, being a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments. Jane works alongside Ollie Barnett.
