Chris Shortland-Ford

Private Banker

Chris joined Weatherbys in 2017, initially as a private banking assistant, before being selected as part of our Associate Private Banker Scheme in 2022. Chris subsequently completed the scheme successfully in the summer of 2024 and was promoted to Private Banker.

Prior to joining Weatherbys, Chris read Economics, Finance and Banking at Nottingham Trent University, achieving an upper second-class honours degree.

Chris looks after a growing portfolio of clients based across the UK, with a particular focus on those with a connection to the world of sports and entertainment. Working out of our London office, Chris is happy to meet clients wherever convenient, whether that be at home, in the office, or anywhere in between. He has experience assisting clients from all walks of life, so is well placed to support a wide range of private clients regardless of their background, location or requirements.

In the years since joining Weatherbys, Chris has accumulated several professional qualifications, including the Professional Banker Certificate (CIOB), the Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice (CeMAP), the Investment Advice Diploma (IAD) and the CISI Level 6 Certificate in Private Client Investment Advice & Management (PCIAM). Chris is also a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment.

Away from the office, he is a keen sportsman and much of his time is spent watching and playing football, rugby, cricket and golf. Chris is also a big music fan, enjoying live music at any opportunity and regularly attends music festivals across the country.
