James joined Weatherbys in 2024 having previously spent ten years working for NatWest Group in a variety of roles. Starting out in a tech role, he progressed into the private clients team, most recently managing a high-net-worth portfolio in the City of London. James began his career at Weatherbys as a Private Banking Executive, before being promoted to Principal Private Banking Executive in Spring 2026.
Having graduated from the University of Leeds with a degree in business management, James has gone on to achieve professional qualifications: the Chartered Bankers Certificate as well as the Certificate in Mortgage Practice and Advice (CeMAP) and is currently studying towards the Investment Advice Diploma (IAD).
Based in our London office, James assists Principal Private Banker, Patrick Peake. As a Principal Private Banking Executive, James assists in managing a growing portfolio of clients who are situated across the UK, specialising in landed estates, as well as training junior members of the team.
Outside of work, James enjoys spending time with his young family, and is a very keen sports fan. He enjoys motorsports and go-kart racing in his spare time, along with avidly following Formula 1, cricket, darts and supporting his beloved Blackburn Rovers.
