Paul joined Weatherbys full time in July 2023 as a Senior Business Development Executive, having spent the previous 18 months in an ambassador role.
He has been in banking and asset management since leaving university in 1988. From 2001 to 2010 Paul ran and owned his own directly regulated mortgage brokerage and joined Cheviot (latterly Quilter Cheviot) in 2010, reaching the position of Professional Connections Director. Here he had responsibility for how the Investment Management teams engaged with solicitors and accountants on a national basis.
Paul uses his skills in wine to help build relationships with both clients and professional intermediaries. He is known in the industry as the “Wine Guy” and in 2017 was knighted in France, receiving the title Chevalier de L’Ordre Des Coteaux de Champagne. This title was first received in 1656 and there are more people having climbed Mount Everest since 1953 than have received this award.
Outside work, Paul is a keen rugby fan, being a supporter of Harlequins and England.
