Specially designed for US citizens living in the UK

At Weatherbys Private Bank we have an experienced private banking team dedicated to servicing US citizens.

Clients with links to the USA can have difficulty securing a high-quality private banking service for their personal banking and borrowing needs in the UK.

Our flexible approach to banking combined with the personal levels of service that we provide to all clients, means that we understand the issues faced by clients with a life that spans the Atlantic.

We look to work with clients who share our values: taking a long-term approach to relationships, treating each client as an individual and providing high levels of service.

Unlike other banks, there are no requirements for our clients to invest with us in order to borrow money or open a bank account. We are interested in taking on new clients that require our day-to-day banking services. These include foreign exchange, deposit accounts, cash delivery and transactional banking, which are all supported by exceptional levels of personal service.

Borrowing – mortgages and loans

Our approach to lending demonstrates two of our key qualities: flexibility and dependability. Having understood your circumstances in detail we will work with you to find a solution.

Recently, a UK domiciled, US-based couple required £800,000 to refinance their UK properties and a further advance for investment purposes.

Weatherbys Private Bank arranged a 10-year loan, on an interest-only basis, secured against the UK properties. Drawdown was completed within two months of our first meeting (by video conference call).

Important information:

We have the power to lend against investment portfolios, but we don’t insist on advising on the portfolios themselves, nor on acting as custodian. Changes in the exchange rate may increase the sterling equivalent of your debt. Think carefully before securing debt against your home. Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on a mortgage or any debt secured against it. Our mortgages and loans are subject to underwriting and criteria. You must be 18 years or over to apply for a mortgage or other loan secured on your property. Terms and conditions apply.
