Weatherbys strives to create opportunities for young people and graduates through our programme for aspiring individuals.

If you are as passionate, innovative and as client focused as we are, then our internship or graduate programme is perfect for you. It is about supporting our teams with a highly diverse range of live projects and real business challenges, where you can gain real insights into our range of products, services and business areas, while making an impact in the time you are with us.

We have had great success over many years running the programme, with some interns and graduates returning to us on a permanent basis after their studies.

Places are limited on the programme which takes place every summer. If you would like to apply please click here.

The programme

Over 8 weeks, you will be working primarily with the client-facing teams within banking, business development, and investment and wealth advice. Depending on your projects you may also work alongside other business areas such as finance, marketing and HR. This will give you a well-rounded understanding of the business, help develop your skills, and allow you to consider whether a career within a private bank is the right path for you.

Throughout the programme you will be given plenty of support from our teams and will be partnered with both a mentor and a buddy within the bank.

Where you will work

You can be based in one of our three offices: London, Edinburgh or Wellingborough.

My internship at Weatherbys Private Bank

Elliot Jones, Private Banking Summer Intern
July 2021

“When I joined Weatherbys Private Bank, I was impressed by how much everyone encouraged me to expand my learning and take on real responsibility from the get-go. Despite working from home during the height of the pandemic, Weatherbys arranged introductory calls with all divisions of the bank to ensure I had a solid understanding of individuals and teams to contact should I need assistance with any of my work or projects. On reflection, this was key to my personal development and creating a warm welcome to the firm.

“Because of the company structure and smaller team sizes, I was able to gain exposure to senior individuals and receive focused feedback or advice when needed. I also experienced a huge variety in my work via a range of differing projects that built my analytical skillset and understanding of client relationship management. This project work included working with Weatherbys Charity Foundation to identify new partners and working alongside the Business Development Team to grow the bank’s customer base. This broad exposure provided me with significant insight into banking and what skillset is required to succeed within a private bank specifically.”
