Fundraising reaches £115,000 in 2025

We have always valued giving back, and we encourage our staff to get involved with communities and charities. Our heritage of care and responsibility continued in 2025 as we again supported those close to our hearts.

More than 150 of our employees volunteered to give back to communities and charities – from taking on the world’s tallest static abseil, to running marathons, skydiving and growing moustaches for ‘Movember’, we gave our all.

Together, we raised more than £43,000 in support of several charities, including our four dedicated charity partners: Alzheimer’s Research UK, The Daylight Centre, City Harvest and Rock Trust. We also raised money for many other charities, including Animals in Need, Racing Welfare, The Stroke Association, Mind and Macmillan Cancer. It wasn’t just about raising money; through Local Village Network, we mentored over 40 of south London’s most disadvantaged young people.

In addition, the Racing Bank continues supporting three key industry charities from the world of horse racing (Injured Jockeys Fund, Racing Welfare and Retraining of Racehorses) through our Racehorse Sponsorship Scheme.

Once again, our Creating The Future Foundation boosted employee donations by match-funding, which, when added to direct donations, brought the total donated in 2025 to £115,000.

To give context to our efforts, here are some of the initiatives we took on this year.

Alzheimer’s Research UK

In the summer, a group of hardy souls battled 23 obstacles for the Tough Mudder at Belvoir Castle in support of Alzheimer’s Research UK. Through mud, sweat and cheers, they raised an outstanding £8,322.

Later in the year, a brave group of thrill-seekers – including our Chairman, Roger Weatherby, and his wife, Sam – took on the tallest static abseil in the world, the National Lift Tower in Northampton, which stands at a dizzying 418 feet. Their courage, teamwork and determination certainly paid off. Together, they raised a brilliant £14,473, setting a new Weatherbys record for a group fundraising effort!

City Harvest

Teams from our Wellingborough and London offices, including our CEO, Quentin Marshall, volunteered to help City Harvest, which collects surplus food and delivers it to over 375 partner charities across London, including food banks, schools, hostels and community centres. Our team helped pack fruit and veg into food boxes and our 63 hours of volunteering equalled 14 tonnes of food provided and 33,390 meals delivered to communities in need.

The Daylight Centre

Some 64 volunteers spent a total of 226 fun-packed, and sometimes rain-soaked, hours across eight days, digging, raking, weeding and planting to help maintain the Centre’s community garden in Wellingborough. Based in our hometown, our local charity partner operates a community hub offering a range of services to those in need, including access to hot showers, clothing, bedding, laundry facilities and food for anyone who is street homeless or lacking access to facilities.

What’s next?

We will be rolling up our sleeves again in 2026 as we look forward to working closely with our 2026 chosen charity partners: Alzheimer’s Research UK, Little Village, Wildlife Trust and Health In Mind.
