Weatherbys bolsters private banker team with two appointments

Weatherbys Private Bank has hired two private bankers as it continues to meet the needs of its expanding client base.

Maya Lewis joins as a Private Banker having worked for Investec for almost a decade. At Investec she worked with a diverse client base, with a focus on Sports and Entertainment clients. Before joining Investec in 2013, Maya worked in real estate investment management and for a family office.

Anthony Rawlinson also joins Weatherbys as a Private Banker after working for two private families in the creation of their respective family offices. He previously served as a discretionary portfolio manager at Coutts and as head of private banking for Standard Chartered Bank in Abu Dhabi after an initial career in Asian investment banking for Jardine Fleming.

The Bank appointed 77 new bank staff in 2022. This included the appointment of Daniel Porteous as a Private Banker based in its new Manchester office as Weatherbys seeks to grow its client base in the North West, and several hires for the Bank’s business development team as it continues to build its private client proposition.

Ollie Barnett, Director at Weatherbys Private Bank, said: “We continue to live in challenging times and relationship banking, where we can look after the needs of our clients on a truly bespoke basis, has never been so important. It is why we have hired more bankers in the past year than ever, and why I am delighted to welcome Anthony and Maya, with their solid private banking experience, to our team.”

The private bank, which is part of the Weatherbys family-owned business founded in 1770, continues to meet the challenges of a changing world, including investing in its digital capabilities and its Creating The Future initiative to ensure a better place for families and future generations.
