Your wealth, your priorities, your plan

We take the time to understand the full picture of your finances as well as your values and priorities. From there, we will shape a bespoke plan together that focuses on:

Discovery and analysis: We review your current assets, liabilities and future financial goals.

Bespoke financial plan: Your adviser will create a roadmap covering tax, pensions and investments.

Implementation: We execute the agreed strategy across our investment platforms and trust structures

Ongoing review: We meet at least annually to adjust the plan as tax laws or your life circumstances change.

Because we empower our team to make informed decisions, it’s a highly personal service, one that’s grounded in integrity and clarity and always shaped around you.

Preserving family wealth across generations

With long-term uncertainty around tax legislation and inheritance tax thresholds, some clients choose Whole of Life (WOL) insurance as part of a broader estate planning strategy. This can provide a source of funds on payout to help meet a future inheritance tax liability, WOL cover can help preserve family wealth and reduce the likelihood of beneficiaries needing to sell assets to settle a tax bill.

At Weatherbys, we work closely with our clients to understand their wider financial position, assess potential inheritance tax exposures and explore whether solutions, such as Whole of Life cover, could support their estate planning objectives. Through careful planning, we help clients put arrangements in place that provide reassurance for both them and future generations.

Trusted advice, underpinned by expertise

Our investment and wealth advice is delivered primarily through your private banker, providing a consistent relationship with someone who understands your circumstances, ambitions and long-term goals. Rather than introducing multiple points of contact, we believe in keeping advice personal, straightforward and centred around the banker you already know and trust.

All of our private bankers hold, or are progressing towards, Chartered Wealth Manager status with the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) equipping them to deliver expert guidance across investment management, retirement planning, estate planning and wealth preservation. They are further supported by our team of Chartered Financial Planners, whose advanced technical expertise helps ensure even the most complex planning needs are addressed with confidence.

Together, this provides clients with the best of both worlds: a trusted banking relationship combined with specialist financial planning expertise.

What you need to know

Investments can go up and down in value and you may not get back the full amount you invest.

FAQs

Weatherbys offers advice-led investing, which includes financial planning as well as a broader consideration of your need for services like insurance. We advise clients on how to achieve their objectives, subject to their preferences and constraints – for example, by maximising expected returns after fees, taxes and inflation, subject to limits on risk.

Your own private banker will advise you, subject to a peer review by specialist colleagues. Being in regular contact and with familiar knowledge of how you like to live life, we can go well beyond the limitations of those who don’t know you so well.

We assess how diversifying across a range of different types of accounts – ISAs, pensions, and more – might be of benefit, providing you with a clear view of how they might work in tandem to achieve your goals, while also being transparent about when added complexity might not be worthwhile.

As Weatherbys is privately owned, we are free to choose the third-party product providers that we work with, such as insurance, offshore investment bond or pension providers. On an ongoing basis we review the universe of potential providers in the areas in which we give advice, and construct panels of those we have selected. We will only recommend financial products and services from the providers on these panels.

There is no minimum investment amount, but we charge a minimum ongoing advice fee of £3,600 + VAT per year. For full information please see our Schedule of Charges.
