Rupert joined Weatherbys in June 2025 as Business Manager of Weatherbys Business Bank, having spent ten years in the British Army and over a decade in financial services.
Arriving at a critical time, he led the ‘build’ phase of the Business Bank, ensuring client experience was at the centre of the decision-making process.
Rupert left Durham University in 2004, entering the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, where he commissioned as an officer in the Grenadier Guards. He deployed to Afghanistan on three operational tours, amassing just shy of two years in Helmand Province.
Leaving the Army in early 2014, he joined Barclays Bank’s Design Office as a customer experience manager before moving to Barclays Premier mortgage product team, finishing his time there as the Deputy Head of Region for the City, Wealth and International. Rupert joined Metro Bank in 2019 in a commercially focused role as its Head of Mortgage Asset Performance. He left Metro Bank in early 2024 to become the Operations Director in an AI fintech.
Away from work, Rupert spends his time with his wife and children, occasionally finding time to go running or making a noise on a musical instrument.
