WEATHERBYS PRIVATE BANK WINS OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

Roger Weatherby, CEO of Weatherbys Private Bank, collected the Outstanding Achievement Award at this year's Spear's WM Awards held at Skinners' Hall in the City of London.

In 2020 Weatherbys will celebrate its 250th birthday. Founded in 1770, it remains one of the oldest family owned businesses in the country. In a rousing speech, Roger began by saying that the award was 'very much a team effort and a culmination of everyone's hard work over the last two and a half centuries.'

LOOKING AHEAD TO THE NEXT 250 YEARS

As one of the seventh generation of Weatherbys to run the business, he then emphasised the importance of remaining innovative and forward looking.

'We need to consider many of the questions the future is asking us – the ‘bigger than me’ questions we must address for our businesses and children’s sake.'

He also spoke of the need to confront climate change; ‘It’s going to affect the personal wealth of our clients and the wellbeing of us all if we get this wrong.'

These words strongly echoed those of his opening remarks at the second Creating the Future conference, held at the Institute of Engineering and Technology earlier this year.
