TWO NEW SENIOR APPOINTMENTS

Weatherbys Private Bank

Two new hires strengthen the team at Weatherbys Private Bank

Clare Munro joins as a Senior Tax Adviser and Rupert Allison joins as an Associate Director and team head.  These two appointments follow last month’s appointment of Fiona Noonan as General Counsel.

Rupert’s 30 year career has spanned both private banking and investment management.  He joins from Barclays Private Bank where he was a Director focussed on managing and building a high net worth client base.  Other key roles include Coutts Private Office where he led an UHNW team, HSBC Private Bank where he was also a Director and team leader and BZW Portfolio Management.

Clare has been in practice since 1982 serving a vast range of clients, from individuals to FTSE100 companies.  She has advised on all aspects of taxation including sale and purchase transactions, planning for property investment and development and tax efficient company structures. Most recently she was the lead tax partner at Lubbock  Fine. Previous roles have included nearly 13 years in PricewaterhouseCooper’s corporate tax department, and a 13 year role at Haslers where Clare became the focal point for Haslers´ trust, inheritance tax and wills work, advising on tax efficient wills, estate planning and trusts.

Quentin Marshall, Head of Weatherbys Private Bank said:

“Clare’s outstanding knowledge will assist the Investment & Wealth Advice team whose three key areas of expertise are cash flow planning, structuring affairs efficiently and investments.

“Rupert will lead a team responsible for building a book of clients focused on banking, credit and investing, as well as bringing his wider experience to help run and grow the overall Private Banking offering.

"Together they will further enhance our ability to deliver excellence which will benefit both our clients and the business."

Commenting on her appointment, Clare Munro added:

“I was impressed by the integrity and dedication to client service which permeates Weatherbys’ services and am enthused by the prospect of applying my tax experience to help Weatherbys’ clients in such a constructive and professional environment.”

Rupert Allison added:

“I am delighted to be joining Weatherbys where clients are treated like members of an extended family where every client is treated as an individual.  I think the combination of the Weatherbys offering, which remains full-service private banking, lending and wealth management combined with their independent ownership, is now unique in the market-place.  Some lending can be approved in a single day – so refreshingly different from the ‘computer says no’ disservice that has become sadly familiar.

“Added to a genuine, well-resourced and well thought-out desire to grow, it is a very exciting opportunity for me and interesting time to be joining the bank.”
