As part of our series of profiles of this year’s speakers at the Creating the Future conference, we meet Oli Barrett MBE, co-ordinator of this year’s event.

Who is he?

Oli is co-founder of StartUp Britain, Tenner, social innovation agency Cospa, and Speednetwork The Globe. He is a regular MC and speaker at international events, and has led eleven trade missions to the US, India and Brazil to help British companies to explore business opportunities. He sits on the advisory boards of the Centre for Entrepreneurs, Tech London Advocates, One Million Mentors and Founders 4 Schools, and is a Fellow the social impact company builder Zinc.


What’s his mission?

Of Oli’s companies, Cospa helps companies and causes to create and grow ventures which make money and make a difference, while Speednetwork the Globe connects the international business community to unlock opportunities and encourage competition. Tenner (now run by Young Enterprise) is the UK’s largest schools enterprise competition and has challenged over 150,000 school pupils to see what they can achieve in one month, starting with £10. Startup Britain is a national business-funded campaign which supports people to start and grow a company.
