The latest news from Weatherbys Bank

Respecting Your Right to Privacy

At Weatherbys we have always taken great care to respect our clients’ privacy; keeping your data secure; only communicating with you when we are sure it will be relevant and of interest to you; and never passing your data onto third parties except in relation to the businesses we work with who are involved in meeting your banking needs.

So when the new regulation – the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) – comes into effect on 25th May, very little will change about the way we collect and store your data.

But in line with the regulation, we will be changing one of the ways in which we have been using your data.

Unless you specifically inform us that you would like us to keep in touch over and above matters directly related to your banking, then we will stop all other communication.

For example, we won’t be able to send you a copy of our magazine, invite you to certain types of event, or tell you about new developments at the bank.

So if you would like us to continue to keep you informed this way, please do let us know.

If you bank online with us, then you will automatically be offered the opportunity to register your preferences when you log in. Alternatively you can let one of our banking team know when you next call. Or you can send an email to and we will call you back at a convenient time.

If you have any questions, please do contact our Data Protection Officer, Adrian McGlynn
