Getting in touch out of hours

In response to the ongoing events relating to Coronavirus, our usual out of hours services have been altered. Please click here to find out how to contact us out of office hours.

Our services

We are continuing to put plans in place to ensure that it’s business as usual here at Weatherbys. Our teams remain committed to delivering exceptional banking services for all of our clients.
In line with the announcement made by the Prime Minister on 23rd March 2020, all bar essential operational staff are now working from home.  Our phone lines remain open and you can contact team members directly or via the switchboard on +44 (0)1933 543543. Whilst working remotely, all staff have secure access to our systems meaning we remain fully operational and able to provide all our usual services.

We continue to support our clients’ borrowing requests and have not changed our careful and prudent lending criteria.  We are able to progress new lending requests quickly and flexibly.  All our operational systems are fully functional, meaning we can put new facilities in place in days.  If you need our help, please get in touch with your Private Banker.

Unsurprisingly, given our conservatively managed balance sheet, we have seen an increase in deposits over the last few weeks.  If you would like to open a new deposit account, please do get in touch with your banker. We continue to offer competitive rates, as well as loyalty rates for longstanding clients.

Financial planning

Despite the extraordinary circumstances, as the tax year end approaches it’s still a good time to consider your financial plan.  We have a simple checklist we’d be happy to run through with you.  Do let us know if we can assist you, be that over the phone or a video conference call.

Online & mobile banking

Our online banking and mobile app services continue to provide a quick and easy way to complete transactions.  Please do contact your Private Banker or the Bank Helpdesk if you would like to register for these services.

Postal services

If possible, please avoid using the post to contact us as there may be a delay in handling it: do telephone or send an email instead.

Due to reduced postal services, we are encouraging clients to use our faster payment or online bank transfer services for the moment. Please do call your Private Banker or the Bank Helpdesk for assistance with this.

Payment requests will be affected from Tuesday 7th April 2020 to Wednesday 15th April 2020 due to the Easter holiday period.

Coronavirus scams

Fraudsters are using the Coronavirus outbreak to try and trick people into parting with their money.  Here are three types of fraudulent activity that we are aware of:

•  Sales of ineffective protective face masks
•  Coronavirus-themed phishing emails with malicious links and attachments
•  Fraudsters sending texts and emails pretending to be from the World Health Organisation (WHO) claiming to be able to provide a list of infected people in their area

Please take the following precautions:

•  Remember to be wary of links and attachments from unsolicited emails and texts and take care not to provide your personal or financial details.
•  Read the security section of our website for further information on how to help prevent falling victim to fraud.
•  Read the WHO’s official guidance.

From 1 April, you’ll be able to use your Weatherbys debit card to make contactless payments up to £45 (provided the merchant is set up to accept the increase in limit from the current £30).
